Unless you’ve been living under a rock, Elite: Dangerous fans, you’ll know that there’s a little event going on right now called CQC Mayhem, or alternatively just Mayhem for short. This event is packed full of challenges, streams, and most importantly MAYHEM! Cough. I’m sorry, that was cheesy.
Anyway, all of these activities are taking place on the 1.4 stress test server, and to celebrate I will be streaming some CQC this evening with three immensely talented pilots and streamers: KateClick, G33kGrrly_Gaming and RheaAyase (the latter of which is a total beast in combat and definitely one to look out for!) Make sure you’re following all of them on Twitch for amazing Elite: Dangerous gameplay and also a wide variety of other games too.
If you’re not familiar with CQC (short for Close Quarters Combat), it’s a new feature that allows pilots to battle it out in small arenas using one of three ships: the Sidewinder, Eagle or Condor. CQC is separate to the main game, which is excellent news for anyone who wants to have some fun with their friends but is currently exploring out in the Middle of Nowhere, Population: You.
We’ll be taking to Team Deathmatch and Capture the Flag for a few matches tonight from 8:00pm BST onwards, so feel free to stop by and watch the Multitwitch, or if you’re interested in challenging us, jump into a queue and maybe we’ll face each other!
If you want to take part in other activities during the Mayhem event, it’s running through to 4th October with upcoming challenges such as Capture the Tea, grudge matches, and of course the Sidewinder Sports Day. More information can be found on the Elite Dangerous Mayhem Schedule.
All in all, I’m pretty excited for the release of 1.4, which is due out on Tuesday 6th October. There’s a bunch of new ships coming out with the release, along with CQC itself, for real this time! What are you most looking forward to with the release of 1.4?
